K.L.E Society’s Arts & Commerce College Ankola, was established by Karnataka Lingayat Education Society in the Year 2000 , under the able guidance of Late Smt. Prema Pikle & our beloved Chairman Dr. Prabhakar Kore . Initially it was college for women with B.A course and affiliated to Karnataka University. Later in the year 2004-2005 the college got affiliated to newly established Karnataka State Women’s University Bijapur. The college introduced co-education in the academic year 2011-2012, consequently it is now reaffiliated to Karnataka University Dharwad, Further considering the growing importance of commerce education, the college has started B.com course in June 2014.
The college along with other sister institution is situated on 15 acres of land at Ankola (Uttara Kannada). The college has an independent building, Besides it has a canteen, play ground, a cycle shed, ladies room and an administrative office.
The college has qualified dedicated Arts & Commerce Faculties. It has separate library. The college provides N.S.S and short-term courses to student. The results of the college have been well above the average The college has been imparting quality education in Arts for the past 17 years and Commerce for the last 4 years. Our Vision is quality education with equal emphasis on the all round development of the student.
